Why Dentistry: “Prior to going to college, I worked in construction as an electrician. Upon completing my four-year electrical apprenticeship, I concluded that I would like to pursue a career in the health industry but still be able to use my hands. Dentistry completes both aspects. I have the opportunity to care for people and improve their overall health and well-being on a personal level using my hands and artistic ability.” – Dr. Van Pelt
